I'm guessing just 4 without LAN, can you imagine 8-player split screen?

actually, from wut ive heard, the ps3 has 7 controller ports (not sure y its 7 though). the revolution could hav up to that or even more. i like the idea of keeping 4 though. 6 might not be bad either but i think any higher than that would be to much.
All the next generation machines have wireless controllers. With the Xbox360, you can only use two at once though, so at least 2 people will have to use wired controllers. With the PlayStation3, upto 7 wireless controllers can be used at any one time (As spectre 13 has said - Not sure if thats all at once though), and as for Nintendo Revolution, well again its wireless, adn the Wavebird controllers allow for 16 different frequencies, so i dont know why Ninty would change that to make it less really.
How are you gonna play 7-player on one TV on the PS3, or am I missing something?
That's what I was saying...how annoying would that be...unless your using a theater screen
im not really sure of that either. it doesnt make sense. if ur playing on one screen then it would either be split into 7 triangles or there might be one screen in the middle and 6 around that one. THIS IS SO CONFUSING!!!
I agree...but that would be a MAJOR downfall...on my T.V....holy sh*t we wouldn't see anything..
"What it's over?! who won..?"
16 players on revolution???
you indeed need a theater screen to play normally indeed
Hehe, my guessing is it can be used for LAN play, or just for like a console party or something, say, having more then one console being played in the same room/house at the sametime.
With the Gamecube, you can link it up so you can play some games 8 Player using LAN (Broadband Adapters Required) on 2 or more T.V's, and with the Xbox, you can link it up so you can play, well at least 16 Player, on at least 4 T.V's obviously! My guess it is for reasons like this that theres a bigger frequency list for wireless controllers, then just 4.
Yha...well....Xbox can support up to 16...and it doesn't have what they are talking about..7 controller ports for PS3....of course linking them up is a different thing all together..
