i am no where near as manga freaks as u guys lol
Anime rocks to say the least but the first animes i ever saw<which lead to me getting stuck into them proper> were Battle of the planets (ahem) and the guyver, the first 6 parts of the guyver were really good but the next 6 parts showed they ran out of money. Shame.
i am now watching chrono crusade and burst angel, both cool.

Chrono Crusade is not bad, and neither is Crazy Burst Angel, I'm watching both as well, nice action and intriguing storyline, although for me, no one can replace Lum (From the maker of Ranma, it was made around 1980, so it's pretty old, has over 200 episodes), Trigun (Deep storyline, as well as nice animation and hilarious moments in various episodes) and Hellsing (Extremely high detail and nice storyline, despite the short number of episodes. Also has obscene violence). I'm also watching Last Exile, not exactly as good in terms of action or comedy, but has it's moments and nice story.
my favorite animes are InuYasha and fullmetal alchemist! i don't watch too much of it but it ROCKS!
