Although I've only played the original Star Ocean, a friend of mine was a Star Ocean 2 fan (EX is based on 2) and he recommended the series to me. It was one of the first serieses I watched. The art is very good but it's quite badly animated. The plot didn't make much sense without having already played the game (at least it had a plot), the music is nothing special, but it has good intro and ending songs. The characters were okay too. Ashton was pretty cool with those dragons. The swordsman Dias is voiced by my fav anime voice actor. ^^ I always forget his name, but he also voices Keough from Ragnarok Animation, Mwu La Flaga from Gundam SEED (!) and Kosanji from Pokemon. Love Team Rocket.

Ashton was pretty funny but, I think Bowmen was cool because he was my fav character in the game. Claude was pretty weak because all he did was copy Dias moves.

You should try to buy it or watch it somewhere nomercy. It a great anime.

You totally make me want to play Star Ocean 2! I liked Star Ocean 1, and the game series' music is composed by my fav. games music composer too... Playstation, isn't it? How hard is it to find nowadays? I heard that Ashton gets a permanent luck penalty! =)
