Since I've never actually seen the show, the storyline may be a bit off, but the basis is, boy finds a mysterious robot girl in trash, brings her home and turns her back on. She's very naive, and gets into many odd situations. Anything wrong or missed?

Not really.I've only read the manga,so you could be spot on.Basically,its as you say,a guy finds Chii in the trash.Chii is a Persocom,which are very expensive computers,which can do pretty much anything.Chii has no data visibly installed,but she can learn.So,Hideki(the guy that finds her)begins to teach her to talk,and how to act properly.I reccomend the first book,because of the hilarious incident with panties.

DO NOT WATCH THE CARTOON! LOL!! there is this very, very, very entergetic persocom named sumomo that's voice is literally ULTRASONIC! your ears will bleeed!!! but pther than that the show is great I highly recomend it if you like the series!!
